It's a Holiday, Play With My Pussy Day
DatingMind GamesFrenchmenBoys
But after experiencing some next level bullshit, I'm hating these days. Like let's get this done because I don't need more than an hour to make up my mind. I feel like I should write a cultural anthropological thesis on it, 365 dates in 365 days... You'd have to be here to understand but it's like being a fat kid in a sweet shop. It'll have you singing "can't hold me down".
Men of course don't like it when you start playing the game like the boys so I get stuck with my fair share of creepers. And in France this is new territory for me because men here are different. I wouldn't say thirstier, but definitely not as aloof as their American counterparts. When you don't return their feelings they go a little Wahlberg. And the older ones are smug as shit. Like dude I'm not all up on your dick, save the attitude for someone who will put up with your shit.
This concept of dating also seems to be uncharted territory. There are levels to this. An entire aspect of American culture is built around "dating". You don't just wife someone up so what's with the thirst? Slow ya roll. I need at least 3 months just to decide if Im going to keep someone around. One day I'll look at someone and Karen O singing "you suddenly complete me" will play in my head, but I'm not holding my breath. I have the attention span of a knat.
Women playing the game like the boys is nothing new (but they're turning into pussies these days crying about it. if you need a quick laugh check out the comments from men on Nicki Minaj's "Lookin Ass Niggas"). American men are used to this. They know better than to disrespect us. They also know what happens to them when they do (Snapped anyone?). Their mommas trained them well. We are not a docile group of females because most of us have been raised by very strong, independent boss ass bitches. Like they were all programmed to "Run the World (Girls)" on endless loop.
We don't play and this is something exotic? Or rather men over here seem to love to hate it. On the one hand they like when you stand up to them, on the other they'd like you to just shut up and submit (very patriarchal and domineering, which is surprising). Oddly enough this coupled with the natural American confidence and ability to talk to anyone, and everyone, entices them. At least that's my opinion of some of them so far.
I have yet to keep one around long enough to go through the ups and downs of a relationship (that's why I've only written about 'He Who Only Has Sex On Mondays'), so I can't comment any more on the subject, but those dumb articles about how they're a romantics wet dream gave me the compulsion to write a post. I sent them to my French girlfriends so they could have a good laugh. I guess those authors were reading too much Austen because Mr. Darcy don't live here (though they do share the same 'tude). I can't believe girls actually move here just to nab husbands because they're French? Bonkers. It this just a French thing or does this mindset exist for other countries?
Save the expectations. Don't believe the hype.
